This affordable, compact turnstile from Boon Edam controls pedestrian traffic in one direction for stadiums, arenas, amusement parks, theatres, and similar venues.

General Features

• Overall dimensions are 37 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 18 inches long.
• Weight: 95 lbs.
• All materials meet the ASTM standards of the materials industry.
• To prevent injury, the mechanical housing, pedestal, and stainless steel cover are equipped with rounded edges.

Mechanical Housing

• Made from either 7 gauge steel (3/16 inch thick) or polished (#4B finish) stainless steel (1/8 inch thick).
• Painted with a durable, baked-on black texture powder coating. No fragile, air-dried enamels.
• Components mount directly to the housing.
• Housing attached to pedestal by 4 concealed 5/16 inch x 1 inch hex head bolts.

Housing Cover

• 16 gauge polished (#4B finish) stainless steel, type 304, covering all fasteners and moving parts.
• Two security cam locks prevent register and mechanism tampering.
• All locking components hardened to ensure a long usable life and reliability.

Pedestal

• Constructed from 7 gauge carbon steel, finished with a rust- and wear-resistant black powder coating or polished (#4B finish) stainless steel.
• Open frame construction, made from 3/16 inch thick carbon steel or 1/8 inch thick stainless steel.

Base plate

• 1/4  inch thick carbon steel or 1/4" inch thick stainless steel, depending on the pedestal.
• 3 mounting holes on base plate.

Stainless steel arms

• Made from 1 1/4-inch-diameter, 16-gallon, round tubing, type 304.
• 120 degrees apart with a machined aluminum 5-inch-diameter hub, which is clear anodized to protect against oxidation and discoloring.
• Arm ends are spun closed, ground, and polished (#4B finish) smooth. No plastic caps.

Operating mechanism

• Hardened assembly with precision-machined, interchangeable parts of high-quality steel with no cast iron parts to prevent excessive wear-and-tear.
• To ensure a long usable life as well as to prevent oxidation and discoloring, all fabricated components of the operating mechanism are yellow cadmium plated.
• Every rotation of the turnstile is registered by a mechanical counter in the operating mechanism.
• A self-centering mechanism cushioned by an aircraft-quality hydraulic shock absorber returns the arm assembly to its original position after the assembly is turned, regardless of the amount of force.
• Heavy springs fabricated from precision spring steel help self-centering.

Safety plate

• Constructed from 16 gauge stainless steel type 304 conceals all exposed fasteners.

Ratchet

• Made from machined high-quality steel rather than soft cast iron; different from the multiple, thin, laminated ratchets of other manufacturers.
